Kat served as the University of Northern Iowa Head Coach from 2005-2008 and was a part of the Panthers Program as Goalkeeper coach/Assistant coach from 2000- 2004. Kakoyianni-Bering brings experience as a former two-sport student-athlete at Fanshawe College, where she received her diploma in Recreation and Leisure Services. She also obtained her Bachelor of Health Sciences from the University of Western Ontario in 2001
Kakoyianni-Bering brings a wealth of knowledge from her athletic endeavors on a national scene. She was invited to try out for the Greece Women's National soccer team for the 2004 Olympics and attended the Olympic trials in 2002. She also trained with the Toronto Inferno women's league team in the summer of 2003.
She is co-founder of the Cedar Valley Adult Soccer Association. She was also the head boys' soccer coach at Denver (Iowa) High School for three years & Assistant Coach at Waterloo West High School Girls Soccer for 3 Years.
