CV Select is the highest level of competition within the CVYSA. CV Select players from U11 through U19 are drawn from all of the CVYSA’s communities. They are highly committed to their own development, to their teams, and to the CVYSA. They develop excellent skills and tactical awareness coupled with a strong work ethic, fitness, and sportsmanship. Teams are formed through tryouts in the early summer. They compete beyond the local area in the Iowa Premier Soccer League’s upper divisions and comparable leagues, playing eight to ten matches each season with home games scheduled at the Cedar Valley Complex. The teams also enter statewide and regional competitions including the State Cup.

• Costs - Payment plans are available upon request (Covers Fall / Spring (U11-U14) / Summer
  • Tryout Fee $10
  • Registration Fee $85 (Due at acceptance of team assignment) This fee is set by ISA
  • Coaching Fee $425  (Due at acceptance of team assignment)
  • Additional fees by team to cover tournament, league, referee, uniform, and travel costs.
• Practice:
  • 2-3 times a week at the CV Complex
  • 8-10 winter indoor training sessions
• College Recruiting Assistance Program
• Players: High ability, high commitment, player attendance expected with high priority for team activities.
• League Play: Statewide league play through IPSL, about eight games per season
• Tournaments: Team option (two or three per season encouraged), State Cup play expected

When players reach the age of U13, Iowa and Region II allow players to compete in a State Tournament. After completion of the tournament, the State Champion is awarded a spot in the Region II Tournament. The Region II tournament matches all of the State Champions within the Region II in a tournament to produce a Region II Champion.

Players who participate in the top team of CV Select (U13-U19) will participate in the Iowa State Cup Tournament. If the team advances out of the state, they will have an opportunity to play in the Region II Championships.
