2013 Spring Season - Field Marshalls

The CVYSA is implementing a Game Management form to ensure the best possible environment for our players, coaches, officials, & parents.  All coaches will receive "6" hard copies of the Game Management form.  Each team should find 1 volunteer parent to serve as a Field Marshall for each game.  The hard copy is to be completed during the game, then that information should be transferred to this online document.  Thank you for your input, have a great season!!

Recreational

The CVYSA Recreational League, the CVYSA's largest program, is designed to provide an opportunity for any youth who wants to play soccer to be able to do so.

Playing in the Rec League builds a love of the game and teaches soccer basics to players U8 through U19. All registrants are placed on teams in their home communities through random distribution, rather than selection based on ability or commitment. Teams are coached by parent volunteers. They play six games per season, all in the local area, and many also participate in the local year-ending Cedar Valley Cup tournament. Players are assured of at least one-half of each game in playing time.

Recreational Schedules

In general, teams are assigned an ID code which designates the Community, then the age group, then a team identifying letter. This last letter is usually near the beginning of the alphabet for boys teams and nearer the end for girls teams.

Your team code was included in the email listing your team assignment.

For example, AP14R is a U14 girls team from Aplington-Parkersburg, and JS08A is a U8 boys team from Jesup.

Select your player's age group then you can filter by the team ID.

The Recreational Soccer League is designed to provide playing opportunities for any child that wants to play soccer. Teams are coached by parent volunteers, players are randomly placed on teams within their community, and all players are guaranteed to play in at least half of every match regardless of ability. The emphasis in Recreational soccer is on participation, skill building, and sportsmanship not on competition or winning.

Teams are formed in 2 year age groups that are designated as Under 08, Under 10, Under 12, Under 14, and Under 19. The players age division is determined by their age as of July 31 before the Fall season. For example, a player who turns 8 on May 15 would be placed on an Under 10 team for the following Fall and spring. With few exceptions, recreational players will play in their designated age group. All recreational league players must be at least age 6 as of July 31 before the fall season. Younger players are encouraged to participate in the Under 06 Academy

Registration occurs annually in April and May for the following Fall and Spring seasons. The teams are mostly the same for both seasons in that playing year. Under 19 registrations are for the Fall season only.
